THE INTERGALACTIC EXHIBIT OF LIFE
afrikaBurn . 2023
This quirky, small-scale installation envisions what a museum exhibit showcasing life on Earth might look like on another planet. Centred around a human figure, it features South African animals that are all currently in various stages of survival stress—the Cape honey bee, Western leopard toad, Cape vulture, and the pangolin - emphasising their vital role in sustaining life and their boundless capacity to inspire. Yet, the exhibit also confronts the destructive impact of human mismanagement, highlighting how no species has caused as much harm to the planet as humanity. The installation seeks to illuminate these wrongs while inspiring a shift toward more positive thinking and sustainable habits.
