DANGER IN THE DARK

baxter theatre centre . pam golding theatre . 2019

Partly based on Shakespeare's Othello, this serious musical is a reworking of the hit musical Poison, written by David Kramer and the legendary late Taliep Petersen. Told from the point of view of Pamela, a social worker writing her thesis on drug abuse on the Cape Flats, the play delves into the world of drug trade and gangsterism in Cape Town in the early 1990s.

This is a ‘big’ production on all fronts and this entire South African team has delivered a world-class experience.

An epic scale musical.

The Cape Robyn

If a sold-out midweek standing ovation isn’t enough to convince you to see the last performances of this production at the Baxter, then the faultless cast and crew should.

Broadway World

Powerful stuff….There’s good reason David Kramer’s Danger in the Dark has been so eagerly anticipated.
